The iGPU on the i5 entry level base model is Intel HD Graphics 620.
The dedicated GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 – 2GB GDDR5.

What is clear is that Microsoft is running into Apple’s territory with ridiculous prices. The price differentials for an upgrade in RAM or CPU are just atrocious. The difference in price between 512GB and 1TB NVMe PCIe m.2 storage is about $210 in retail price. Yet, Microsoft seems to be charging a $400 – 500 differential.

We may have to added the term “Microsoft Tax” to the laptop vocabulary.

Once has to remember that the manufacturer, Microsoft is getting its components (RAM, Storage, CPUs) at wholesale prices. There is no excuse for this markup. Frankly, when a laptop costs as much as a comparably loaded iMac (with i7-7700K, 16GB RAM and 1TB storage), the product is in serious trouble.

The HP Spectre x360 Touch 13” touch comes in at 16GB, 3860 x 2160, 256GB Storage (when optioned), at $1479.99 – albeit with iGPU. There is no excuse for Microsoft to be offering far less for the money.

For $70 less than the intro Microsoft Surface Book 2, HP offers twice the RAM, equal Storage, with a better screen resolution and an 8th gen processor.
